Finally got the chance to try scanning some of my stuff from Photography Class. Some of it even turned out okay.

So since we started taking a B&W photography course over at Maryland Hall Andrea and I have been getting very excited over the idea of using real film again. Last week’s class was how to develop a roll of film after which we went online and got all the stuff we would need to do it at home. Our first round of negatives involved accidentally butchering my roll of film, but Andrea got some good shots out of hers that she’s put up on Flickr.
I developed a roll of 120 film from my holga, but don’t have a way to scan them right now to see what they actually look like as un-negatives again.

Andrea is auctioning a print of one of her photos off in the Hurricane Katrina Relief Auction on Flickr. It ends shortly so get in there and bid quick!
In mildly related news: monday night was our first night of Introduction to Photography (yes, real film, chemicals, darkroom, the whole shebang) class at Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts and it looks like it’s going to be awesome.

So Flickr apparently has a system that determines what your “most interesting” photos are and ranks them for you. But for the life of me I can’t figure out why of all my photos this one would be number one.

Went up to Ithaca/Trumansburg for my grandparent’s 60th wedding anniversary over the weekend. It was a good time and I got to see a bunch of relatives I haven’t seen in a LONG time. All the aunts and uncles were there (my mom has 5 brothers), most of the cousins were there (my cousin Travis did the catering, it was awesome here’s a review from a restaurant he worked at to give you an idea of the kind of stuff he was up to). Grandparents, friends of grandparents, all sorts of people. I snapped a couple pics but haven’t flickred them yet, hopefully I’ll get around to doing that shortly (Andrea’s pics are already up) but I need to do some laundry before i can leave for NY for Flash Forward this afternoon.
