But can you eat it too?

Cake is a framework for PHP, based on Rails. It’s aim is to aid programming web applications. It’s released under Public Domain licence. This is not an one-for-all solution, it’s just a framework I happen to develop and use. I hope you enjoy it.

I suppose since that icon came out of a dingbat font I can’t really sue for copyright infringement or anything.

I’d rather be slaughtered by robots than die a slow lingering death from a Viral Pandemic.

So, I finally broke down

April 16th, 2005

So I finally went out and bought an iPod. Andrea got me some Best Buy gift cards for my birthday and I had some money from other people around, so I figured I’d finally go for it. I got a silver mini and it’s managed to impress me in ways i wouldn’t have thought possible (once I got past the troubles i had installing it, that is).

For those not necessarilly in the know if you’re on windows, this is one of the most useful ipod related things ever: iPod Agent. RSS feeds, weather forecasts, movie playtimes. Very useful.

Shades of Metal Gear

Except for the fact that it doesn’t have a machine gun mounted on the bottom this thing reminds me of those flying surveillance drone things in the Metal Gear games.

Pope no longer not-dead.

I got a used blue & white G3 tower off ebay on the cheap so that i could put linux on it (why i chose this over a used pc to do that with, i’m not sure. but wtf, right?). So far it has refused to let me install Gentoo, Yellow Dog Linux, and Debian. It did let me install Darwin but it crashes on boot and won’t do anything.

Life is awesome.

I’m at the point of thinking “Should I try OSX? It costs more than I paid for the computer itself.” but I think (and please, let me know if anyone knows the answer to this) that the latest version of OSX ships on DVDs, but this machine only has a CD-ROM in it so that might not work either.

Update: it appears that OSX does come on CDs so there is a chance I can get it on there. I may have to wait and see.

Fascinating, but this is the best part.

As late as 1903, at the death of Pope Leo XIII, a pope’s death was verified by striking the pontiff’s forehead with a silver hammer. It may also have been used on John XXIII, who died in 1963, according to America weekly’s website.
